Introduction
As you may have noticed from my resume, I am originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba! I moved to Toronto after graduating from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications.
Educational Background
Everyone has heard of a rhetorical question, but you may wonder, what does a degree in Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications even mean? Rhetoric is the study of language and its use in communication. Its techniques and principles are used to persuade or inform audiences through spoken, written, or visual means. While pursuing my degree, I fell in love with marketing and advertising.
After graduating, I researched top schools in the country for further education in marketing and chose Seneca College in Toronto. Despite not knowing anyone in the city, I picked up my life and moved to Toronto.

Professional Journey
After earning a diploma in Creative Advertising from Seneca College, where I graduated with honours, I began my career in digital marketing.
One of my professors at Seneca College saw my potential and hired me full-time at his marketing consulting business, Alavie Enterprises Ltd. During my four years there, I gained experience in nearly all facets of digital and traditional marketing. I worked on projects related to daily website management, new website launches, social media management, local radio and newspaper ads, outdoor advertisements (such as bus bench ads and TV display ads), weekly blogs, brochures, and more.
When it was time to move on from Alavie Enterprises Ltd., I decided to specialize in social media marketing. I started as a Social Media Coordinator at Beauty Nut Inc., a start-up cosmetics company specializing in products infused with Argan Oil. Here, I was responsible for Beauty Nut's social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (now X). I created visually appealing Instagram feeds, educated users on product ingredients, ran giveaways, and conducted lead generation campaigns. Unfortunately, before their e-commerce store could launch, Covid-19 changed the world, and the company had to let everyone go due to the uncertainty brought on by the pandemic.
Advancement and Specialization
Once companies started hiring again, I was offered a position as a Social Media Specialist at JTAA Fashion Design (publicly known as Calla Blanche). After becoming familiar with the current social media strategies and the bridal industry, I crafted successful paid and organic social media strategies for their four Instagram and Facebook pages, one Pinterest, and one TikTok account. My strategies grew their main page's Instagram following by 50K+ followers in just over a year, generated leads, drove traffic to their website, and increased sales and brand awareness. In addition to Facebook and Instagram, I refined their Pinterest strategy and launched and managed their TikTok account.
Leadership Role
After growing their main Instagram page to 150K followers, I was promoted to Digital Marketing Team Lead. In addition to my tasks as a Social Media Specialist, I managed the digital marketing team's efforts (a total of four people). This included conducting competitor research for a new website design, optimizing the website's product pages for search engine marketing and usability, and writing copy with SEO best practices in mind. I was also responsible for writing and editing blog posts to maximize their chances of appearing in Google search results, routine website management, and more.
To Conclude
My journey has taken me from Winnipeg to Toronto, through various roles and industries, and I have developed a comprehensive skill set in digital marketing. I am passionate about creating impactful marketing strategies and look forward to bringing my expertise to new challenges.
And that's the short version! I would love to go over anything in more detail if you'd like more information about any of my experience!
